Text Box: DECORATING TIPS
Text Box: Bring the fall colors into your home by placing some branches of fall leaves, cattails, feathers and dried flowers in a decorative pot or vase.
Create a centerpiece on your kitchen table with a basket of fresh apples and pears. Gather up some fallen acorns and leaves to mix in with the fruit. Tie some raffia bows on the basket handle.
Add a few fall-looking throw rugs throughout your home.
Use some fall colors on your sofa & chairs with pillows & throws.
Place some fall color candles throughout your home.
Decorate your outside doors with wreaths or a cluster of Indian corn.
Make arrangements of pumpkins or gourds on the porch, patio, or deck. Place some colorful potted mums and corn husks with the pumpkins.
Pumpkins, mums, and other fall items can be placed on the sides of the steps leading up to the porch for a welcoming entrance.
If you have an outside light pole, this is the perfect spot to attach corn stalks around it. Place pumpkins, gourds, and hay bales around the base.
A scarecrow can be added to the outside vignette. Make or purchase one at your local craft store.

 FALL CRAFT:   PUMPKIN HAY BALE

Purchase a large craft hay bale from your local store.  Insert a pumpkin pick at one edge of the bale.  A real, mini pumpkin can be used also.  Insert a wooden skewer into the bottom of the real pumpkin to secure it to the bale.  If you like, you can draw a face on the pumpkin, using a black marker or paint pen.

Use fall colored flowers, berries and dried grasses and insert into the top of the hay bale.  Drape some of  the foliage over the front part of the bale as well.  Make a raffia bow and tie on to the neck of the pumpkin.  For filler, you can make twisted raffia pieces tied onto wooden skewers, and insert them amongst the foliage.  The arrangement can be used throughout the fall season.  Make several for centerpieces.
